Animation is generally about simulation of movements by displaying a series of pictures or also can be called as frames to provides the illusion motion.To the human eye it would be perceived as a continuous movement. In simpler terms, animation is the art of making inanimate objects appear to move.

Other means and ways animation has been done is simplistic things such as a flip book you flip through to see movement way before motion picture movies came out. The idea of animation had always been there, but the revolutionary move was obviously the production of motion picture movies. The way which animated movies are made is by drawing several drawings and showing them in rapid movement after each other to fool the brain to think it is moving.
